homemade chili for dinner!

so, after my day of relaxation, i decided to venture out with jessica to jacqui's apartment! we didn't do much of anything, just girl talk + papa johns breadsticks!, but wanted to go out because i had been in the apartment since friday morning when i had gotten back from the on-campus doctor. Dr. Geiger is such a lifesaver; she was able to give me medicine for the bad germ that may need one extra kick in the pants, and i am starting to feel much better!

tonight, jessica & i are attempting our snowboarding class again! wish us luck :) hopefully i'll be able to post pics from our first class later on tonight!

blah, sick again.

and why do i have to be sick on one of the biggest snow days of the year?! i was so excited :(
hopefully i will feel better tomorrow.
and i said things to travis yesterday that i didn't mean... i just wish i could keep my mouth shut & enjoy the time i share with him. why do i always try to control the situation?! and he's in greensboro tonight/this weekend to train, so idk the next time i'll see him.

i had another great weekend!
thursday: got my laundry done & watched the season finale of jersey shore (tear!) with jess. i'm going to miss the fist pumpin'! bahahaha

friday: out with beth!!! it was me, beth & her friend sarah & i had sooooo much fun! don't remember much (oops!) but had a blast! we had dinner at ruby tuesdays, then headed out to char :) the rest of the night consisted of girl talk & staying up WAY TOO LATE... aka 5am. its fine!

saturday:.... ughh saturday. i ended up spending the night at beth's house, so the next morning we made a trip to bojangles on the way home. yummmmmy hangover food! next was a much needed shower, & my bed for the rest of the day :) i tried to watch dexter, but i can't find a website that lets you watch all the episodes one after the other. help?? after my much needed rest, i went back to over to beth's with baby max of course, & we did a kickboxing video (complete with videos sent to travis & tyler, bahahaha!) and harry potter #6. after drifting off to sleep, i got a call from trav asking if i would come snuggle with him if he came and picked me up... & who can resist a good snuggle any night?!

sunday: SLEPT IN!! yes! trav heated up his homemade beef tips, biscuits & cheesy potatoes for lunch, & we sat in his kitchen while watching football :) (the reason he claims to have fallen in love with me in the first place- bc i don't mind watching football! haha) the rest of the day consisted of laying around watching movies & heroes on netflix (latest obsession!) T met jack at the gym around 6:30, so i came home & made dinner while catching the 11 LEAKY SPOTS in my ceiling. its a good thing i used the mixing bowls for dinner before i needed them to catch water ;)
now, it is time for bed!

day 20

lets see! today consisted of bio class (yuck!) and bio lab (double yuck!) but the lab was better than expected. i had 3 really nice people in my group, and a lab instructor who looks like johnny depp (pre-haircut), and plays pandora music during the lab sessions. sweet!
after school i picked up my books, and got my nails done. the guy talked me into getting "glit-tah jail on my nails", so i said "what the heck! i only live once!" annnnnd come to find out, beth wants to do it next time :) woo hoo! trendsetter!
after my nails, i came back home and watched the bachelor with max :) it was a great episode!
wednesday night dinner followed, yummy flipside!, with beth and a trip to harris teeter for dessert food :)
ever since i got home, i've been watching tv with max and working on homework. blahhhh i'm about to throw in the towel! i need to finish my novel anyway. its getting so good! next up: dear john

day 15!

hello!
i completely forgot to keep up with my blog this week... i've been busy getting back into school and figuring out my schedule! needless to say... this week wore me out!

i decided to keep my abnormal psych class on tuesday/thursdays... i can't see myself getting up at 9am mwf when i already get my for my 9:30 tr already. plus i liked the class yesterday :) even though i got a coffee, and watched the girl beside me play on her macbook... it was better than tuesday :) so i'm stickin' with it! plus my mom, travis, and kelsey's bf eric really liked the class when they took it, so i'm going to give it a try!

and can i just tell you- i don't know what it is- but sometime's waiting, and time, can bring you to exactly what you are looking for. idk what it is, but trav is starting to turn the corner and act like himself again :) i mean, texting me all during christmas break, coming to my house new years day, taking me to a movie, holding my hand and opening my car door multiple times, and staying the night plus what he said to me today... :)

i just wonder what all this means? we'll see. girls have a constant thought flowing through their minds, while boys seem to just think about whats in front of them at the moment. so, i just wonder where all of that came from...?!

day 12!// not my cup of tea.

so, today i had research II, abnormal psych, and services with older adults.
blah.
research II was alright, i think it will be better than the first research class because the information is different, and the professor is different.
abnormal psych was boring :( i think i'm going to try and wait it out, but i was so bored in class today! since its in the library i thought it would be better and a nice change of scenery... maybe i need to get a coffee before each class?

and older adults was interesting... one night a week but the teacher is so foggy! i might drop it and take it online during the summer. not sure if thats what i should do though, since i just want to finish up class and make sure i have everyting in line for my internship. ugh, i just don't know!

after class, i came home and made delicioussssss spaghetti and garlic bread while i watched american idol. yum!!!!

now its time to get in bed and read, tomorrow is another busy day!

day 11//first last day of school!

i am sooooo tired.
today was my first ((last)) day of school! crazy, i can't believe it!
my monday schedule isn't too bad- bio at 11am and human sexuality at 5:15pm.

bio- i don't think it will be as bad as i'm thinking! its in the auditorium, where i have never had a class, but was cool because its a class of 160 so there is no attendance, and the teacher seems really chill. thank goodness!

human sexuality- i'm not sure if i'll keep it, but i need something to fill my hours with! i think this class will be really interesting, and i am so glad a professor i like is teaching it! griff is a great teacher and it will be my 3rd time in one of his classes.

good first day of class!

tomorrow i have research II at 9:30, abnormal psych at 2, and older adults at 6. i also have to meet up with jess to fill out snowboarding forms at the convocation center. whewww! busy day ahead :)

oh! and i'm trying to get into a gym routine- at least mondays and wednesdays between or after class. i really hope i hold onto it, i need it for sure! :)

update on day 8, 9 and 10 :)

i have been soooo busy lately with moving back into my apartment in boone and seeing my loves that i didn't have time to blog! here's the update...

day 8:
heaaaaaven :)
i made the DEAN'S LIST!!!! woo hoo! i am soooooo excited! :D
later that day i drove back to boone, and trav called me while i was on the way, just to see where i was :) after i was welcomed by a toasty 7 degree temp, trav came over to help me unload my car and unpack my suitcases. he suggested that we make dinner at his place and so he drove us out to foscoe. he made a yummy chicken dinner with macaroni, rolls, and fresh cut potato wedges. delicious! after dinner we watched tv with allen, meggan and thomas and didn't get in the bed until 3am because we got addicted to californication with david duchovny. ((i have to finish the first season and start the second!)) great first night in boone :)

day 9:
slept in until 11am!! whoop whoop!! then trav made breakfast- oatmeal on the stove with butter and sugar :) doesn't take much too please me!
we made our way out to marion around 3 in the afternoon, and saw his mom and dad, his sweet red truck :) and went grocery shopping at an outlet store! i got so much good food :) we went to nara for dinner too! love that japanese restuarant! :)
when we got back, we unloaded my groceries and he headed back to his place. 24 hours with him was awesome :) i don't think it mattered what we really did, as long as we were back together in boone.

...later that night i went out with beth! (i was so happy to see her!) and went to char. jess met up with us later, and we had so much fun!!


sooooo fastforward to today! snowboarding shopping was a success!! i found roxy goggles for $46 when they were originally $120! yes!

we grabbed dinner from pizza hut, and watched 500 days of summer. kind of disappointing though, however, i won't spoil it for you :)

so, now you are all caught on up on my weekend! class starts at 11am tomorrow, starting with biology yuck!, so i'm off to bed! i'll write about my first ((last)) day of class tomorrow :)

i've only been back in boone for 36 hours, and i can already tell this is going to be one hell of a semester/year...

17 hours
18+ inches of snow already
motivation to lose weight/shape up with my new workout leggings!
saw beth, jess, and trav within 24 hours of my stay.
started off 2010 with my loves!!

i'll update everything about the past 2 days later tonight, as for now, i'm hoping in the shower & going snowboarding shopping, black-cat eating, and movie watching with jess :)

day 7!// last night at home

tonight is my last night at home in high point.
mixed feelings? yes.
i'm excited to get back up to boone, where there is
1. snow!
2. my cozy apartment
3. my schedule on my time
4. jessica, beth & travis
5. the child development center
6. social work

however, at home i get to
1. spend time with my parents
2. live in a house with other people and more space than my apartment
3. have a washer & dryer :)
4. enjoy fresh food and hot dinners!
5. spend time at the jewel box, aka my love
6. enjoy the lack of wind/ice!!


however, there is no need to dwell on this-- i may only have this semester left to enjoy boone, if i get an internship here in greensboro and inherit my aunt's house for the next two years, (including her dog, Bella! yes!), starting in May.

ahhhhhhhhhh so much to decide!
so, mixed emotions? yes. but i am ready for them!
bring it on!

day 6!// no more dentist til june!

so today... i went... back to the dentist.
for 2 fillings. ahhhh yikes!!
although i am in love with dr. beshears and his dental hygenists... i do NOT want to ever have a filling again, let alone 2 at once! i couldn't feel the right side of my face, all the way up to my eyeball! talk about a weird feeling. yuck.

after the dentist, i came home to try eating lunch, which worked out in my favor because it helped my face come back to life, so to speak :)

after a trip to micheals, big lots and goodwill, i came home to work on my room. successful!
-vanity skirt & magazine pics: check!
-bedding and decoration pillows: check!
-new flowers for my vases: check!
-red chair covered with a quilt: check!
-painted white stool and bedside light: check!
-found a CUTE calendar to match the room: check!

now all i need to do is...
-put my closet doors back on their hinges
-find a lampshade for the dresser & add green polka dot trim
-add the heart to the white stool?
-re-do the window treatments
-replace old pictures in picture frames with updated ones :)

and that should be it!

after dinner (tacos & beans! yum!) dad and i saw SHERLOCK HOLMES...! loved it! and i loved spending time with my dad because i don't get to see him that often; not as often as i see my mom. this is because cartridge world keeps both of them busy, as well as the chores my dad has set for himself around the house, the fact that i'm off at college when he is home, and he travels for his other job, next level partners. i am so happy we got to go together, just the 2 of us :) we'll probably go see HOLMES 2 together when that comes out! yesssss

and before i forget, i want to see wicked and taylor swift in concert this year!

such an accomplishing day!
-dropped off my jeans to be altered
-found out my 2nd holes did not to need to be repierced! (yay!)
-opened up my 2nd cartilage, in hopes that i can get an earring in soon!

i also re-arranged my schedule for next semester- i'm pretty pumped, haha. a snowboarding class, 2 night classes (only once a week!) and my earliest class 9:30 on TR, with friends :) sweet!!

have i mentioned how in love i am with my friends?!? i have such a special bond with my favorite people from high school; its ridiculous! i love coming home to see them/going to visit them and have them come visit me. i have spent so much time with everyone over this break, and i am going to be sad to leave them. on the flipside- we've lasted this long apart, we can take it for a little longer :)

now, i'm off to paint my toenails hot pink, even though today is january 5th :)

new year's challenge!

hello all you bloggers out there! this is my first blog, and i have decided to work on it every day of the year for 2010. i am so excited! even though today is jan. 3rd, i've been wanting to start this since the last week of december. here we go!

new years resolutions:

scrapbook my college career (since i'm graduating THIS YEAR!)
figure out what i want to do once i graduate

i'm sure i have more, i just need to think of them!

update over the past 2 days:
new years eve- new years day!: took a roadtrip to chapel hill/raleigh with dan and tara :) had so much fun in raleigh when the ball dropped and during dance party with dan, tara, and reagan. haha! i can't wait until all of us are back in HP again, after graduation. yess! i miss everyone so much.

new years day: trav came to visit :) we had a yummy homemade dinner with mom and dad, complete with ribs (and made-from-scratch sauce!), black-eyed peas, asparagus, and sister shu's. because each of these foods symbolize a tradition for the new year, i'm hoping for progress, money, and economic fortune :) after dinner we settled in to watch a little JERSEY SHORE (love it!) and headed out for avatar. 55 pounds of "illegal" candy and $25 movie tickets later, we were in the nosebleed section of the #4 theater with our sweet 3D glasses, glued to the movie. definitely recommend this one! the next morning included biscuitville, a trip to cartridge world, target and best buy, in search of a battery charger for my new kodak camera. luckily, we found one :) trav left the same time i went to work, and i was sad to see him go. i think he was sad too, but at least we only have one more week until we're both back in boone. (us and 18+ inches of snow)

i'm currently at the jewel box, where the jewels are lacking because we sold most everything during christmas! trying to find something to do is not an easy task today. but i love being here, so i better go :)
